3 congress days, over 1,000 meetings in more than 30 meeting rooms – and all with a view of the beautiful Bosphorus! We were welcomed with great hospitality and can say with certainty: Turkey offers service at a very high level.

From 10-13 October, the international congress of a long-standing customer from the automotive industry took place in Istanbul.

Around 300 participants from over 33 different countries made the journey to the vibrant megacity.

This year, an exclusive online guide was created for the event with all the important information about the event as well as interesting facts. This was not only intended to be forward-looking in terms of sustainability. Participants had access to the landing page at any time and from anywhere via QR code, so everything was just a click away.

After a smooth check-in at the Swissotel The Bosphorus and by our team at the hospitality desk, there was the opportunity to have lunch in the hotel’s Sambosa restaurant to fortify oneself for the upcoming meetings.

In order to accommodate the numerous meetings at the same time, nice:-) had the hotel convert 30 hotel rooms over two floors into meeting rooms.

These provided the right atmosphere for intensive negotiations and discussions between the representatives of the various countries and the suppliers. With a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus, which could be seen from almost every room and meeting room, plenty of coffee breaks and first-class service from the hotel, the first meetings were successfully concluded.

In the evening, all participants gathered in the hotel’s ballroom. Here, the best suppliers, countries and other special achievements were honoured and awards presented accordingly.

To round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere, the participants were invited to the rooftop of the 5-star hotel after the ceremony.

The guests were served Turkish specialities and delicacies at various live cooking stations as well as a flying buffet and so the first day drew to a close with an exuberant atmosphere under warm radiant heaters, relaxed music and a panoramic view over Istanbul at night.

The second day started with an individual breakfast with a gigantic view of the Bosphorus, which glistened in the sunshine.

This was followed by the large general assembly, where various speakers provided insights into the future plans of the network. After a total of two hours, the participants moved on to the next speed meetings, which lasted until late afternoon.

However, having the Bosphorus on your doorstep is not enough!

So in the evening, 8 large shuttle buses took us to the pier, where an exclusively chartered luxury yacht was waiting for the group. A sky of fairy lights, drinks and small appetisers created the right ambience to start the evening. During our trip, we were accompanied by the typical seagulls of Istanbul, which made the journey even more magical.

The location of the evening, the Esma Sultan, is right next to the Bosphorus Bridge and is simply unique!

In the past, it was used as a school and coal depot, among other things, but was destroyed by fire in 1975. The walls were preserved and a picturesque venue was created. The perfect place for a chic yet relaxed dinner, where participants could review their experiences and catch up with colleagues, partners and friends.

We have been planning and organising the congress with over 30 nations for more than 10 years and every year brings new experiences and memories. We had an incredibly good time in Istanbul!
